In a post on Electronic Recruiters Exchange (ERE.net), a network and forum of corporate, third party, and executive recruiters, Matt Charney wrote a sarcastic yet realistic view of how employers read job seekers resumes.

The post was one of the most commented posts of the forum in 2009. There is a lot of input and comments from all types of recruiters.

If you are a job seeker, it’s worth reviewing.

Matt discusses the numerous companies out there trying to make money off of unemployed job seekers as well as a detailed time slice of how recruiters choose to review your resume in 10 seconds or less… no matter how much you paid a “professional resume writer”, you still only get 10 seconds.

By the way, if you are looking for a job, one of the best way to find a job is through networking with recruiters. ERE is the top US network and community for all types of recruiters. I suggest you take a look, or follow the articles, or join their group on LinkedIn.

Keep building your Referral Network… It is the #1 way to find your next job.

I’m done with AT&T for good. No more BS!

In the US, I strongly believe that we vote with our money.
If you like a company and their products, you are voting for them by paying them for their services.

If you don’t like doing business with them, you don’t like their politics, their products, or whatever, it’s your right to stop supporting them and therefore stop buying their products and services.

I decided many month ago to stop voting for AT&T, by cancelling all my services with them, and finding other solutions.

I used to pay them over $3,000 per month for multiple business and residential phone lines.

After several rounds of going to Voip, Skype, RingCentral, and Google Voice, I finally thought I was done.

But it never ends. I have cancelled my AT&T business line 4 times in the last 6 months, yet I continue to get billed each month.

Each month, the day the latest screwed up bill comes in, I call in, waste another 60+ minutes on the phone. Again, telling the rep, the same story that should now have its own wikipedia page.

I haven’t been at the physical office of the last phone for over 5 months. The phone line was forwarded to a different telecom service, and finally the number was completely ported to a new company, completely eliminating AT&T. When talking to AT&T, the service is supposedly turned off, yet I continue to get $80 in bills each month.

Of course I have to wait 1 hour on hold to try to deal with it, each month, and then they say I will get a $0 dollar bill…. which never happens.

In the last round… I decided to have an assistant do it. Then, I got on the phone to confirm everything… Finally!

Then, once again, I got another Bill! This one for $176.04… for cancelling the service.

Can you believe this BS?

I never had a contract with them. Yet, somehow no one in the 10,000 employees at the company seem to figure out how to do anything.

Is there some way to suit them for my time?
What a waste.

I’m done and will never do business with AT&T again.

And for all of my friends and connections who work for AT&T, I hope you can find a new job with a company that is really worth working for.

And if for some reason there is actually someone who wants to get this problem fixed, which I entirely doubt, please look up my account, Fix it, and call me when you have done it. I will publish the results the day I get a $0 final statement.

My guess is that no one in the entire AT&T organization will do anything, so I will continue to publish through social media until either enough people hear and read about this, and start taking their own action, or AT&T actually does something to fix the issue.

My guess is I will continue to tweet and publish for many months to come… just to prove their complete incompetence and lack of interest in actually serving their clients.

This is specifically why big companies SHOULD be allowed to go bankrupt.

I have no intent on this being a forum for bashing AT&T. I just want my account at a $0 Balance and for them to leave me alone for the rest of my life.
